GRATITUDE Week 29, Day 7: Thankful that despite the pettiness, selfishness and ugliness that spews from fearful hearts, that most of the time, most people are good.

QUOTE Week 29, Day 7: “If each man or woman could understand that every other human life is as full of sorrows, or joys, or base temptations, of heartaches and of remorse as his own . . . how much kinder, how much gentler he would be.” ~ William Allen White

GRATITUDE Week 29, Day 6: Thankful for the Free Little Libraries found throughout Minneapolis and other cities in the world. FreeLittleLibraries.org

QUOTE Week 29, Day 6: “When you give a man a book you don’t give him just 12 ounces of paper and ink and glue – you give  him a whole new life.” ~ Christopher Morely (but I replaced the word ‘buy’ with ‘give’)

GRATITUDE Week 29, Day 5: Thankful for the ability to sleep in.. both that I have the luxury of time to do so, and the ability to stay asleep when my body needs rest.

QUOTE Week 29, Day 5:“Sleep is lovely, death is better still, not to have been born is of course the miracle.” ~ Heinrich Heine

GRATITUDE Week 29, Day 4: Thankful for the opportunity to interview for a position as a Social Media Manager with a fortune 500 company. And even more thankful that if I’m offered the job I will only say yes if it is a good fit. Thankful that if I am not offered the job, it’s OK because I still have ‘work’ to do in this world, a way to contribute, and even if I don’t receive a pay check all my needs are met… financial…spiritual… and otherwise.

QUOTE Week 29, Day 4:“Your work is to discover your world, and then  with all your heart give yourself to it.”  ~ Buddha
AND; “I put all my genius into my life. I put my talents into my work.” ~ Oscar Wilde

GRATITUDE Week 29, Day 3: Thankful for the beautiful diamond ring given to me by Ian’s grandmother when he and I were first engaged. It was, imho, a symbol of her utter belief in the longevity of our marriage.

QUOTE Week 29, Day 3:“The soul is placed in the body like a rough diamond, and must be polished, or the luster of it will never appear”  ~ Daniel Dafoe

GRATITUDE Week 29, Day 2: Thankful for curry. What a wonderful spice! It tastes wonderful on lentils, beans, tuna, rice… even in soy milk.  Cooking is easy with curry.

QUOTE Week 29, Day 2: “Playwrights are like men who have been dining for a month in an Indian restaurant. After eating curry night after night, they deny the existence of asparagus. ”   ~ Peter Ustinov

GRATITUDE Week 29, Day 1: Thankful for garage sales. They are a great way to get to know a city, peak into the lives of their hosts, and find cool stuff that you may or may not ‘need.’

QUOTE Week 29, Day 1: “Only in America – do we leave cars worth thousands of dollars in the driveway and put our useless junk in the garage”   ~ Unknown
